Kia ora whānau

As you have probably heard we (those outside of Auckland) are changing Alert Levels from Level 3 to Level 2 on the 7th of September at 11:59pm.

Latest information can be found at https://covid19.govt.nz.

Fergusson Intermediate will be open for all students under Level 2 restrictions on Thursday 9th September.

FIS will operate as per Level 3 restrictions on Wednesday with our essential workers bubble plan. All staff will be attending a planning day to get things up and running for Thursdays return. If you are absolutely needing to send you child to school on Wednesday please let us know.

We currently have 9 students on our Level 3 register and we will need to add any asap for Wednesday so we know what we need to plan for. Please email Anne McPhie amcphie@fergusson.school.nz

We are super excited to be getting our team back and want to thank you all for the positivity, engagement and support over this time.

Kia kaha, aroha nui and Thank You.

We (Fergusson Intermediate) are currently working under Alert Level 3 conditions as Aotearoa / NZ (excluding Auckland and Northland) move to Alert Level 3 restrictions. Alert level information can be found here:

https://covid19.govt.nz/alert-levels-and-updates/current-alert-level/

Our priority at Fergusson Intermediate is to continue to deliver quality online learning, support for those in need and to ensure we are doing all we can to keep our community safe and well. We are here to help.

Who can attend school in Level 3 and what do I do if I need my child to attend?
All schools ultimately remain closed with the exception of a very small number of children.

"Children should only go to school if their parents are required to work and there is no other option available. For the most part, schools remain closed"
Prime Minister Jacinda Adern

School is only open to students where ALL adults in the household are essential workers and there are no alternative arrangements within your bubble.

At Fergusson Intermediate School we are committed to providing a safe, controlled learning environment for all students who have whānau who are required to go to work as essential workers, and / or who do not have any adults at home (in their bubbles) who can support them. We currently have a register of students and staff on site to meet these needs under strict Level 3 guidance provided by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. If your circumstances change or you feel that your home situation requires your child / children to attend school under Level 3 conditions then please email Simon Kenny (Principal) skenny@fergusson.school.nz so we can update our register and support you with this.

No unexpected students or visitors are allowed on site during this time. We acknowledge that this lockdown continues to be met with a range of emotions and feelings and that every one of our situations will be different. Please feel free to email me skenny@fergusson.school.nz with any concerns, or if you need any support at all.

If things are really challenging, please remember that you can call
